LIDA Lighthouse celebrates first year and announces 2019 programme.

Author of Diversify, June Sarpong MBE, recognised LIDA’s Lighthouse programme and efforts in diversifying recruitment, at an event in London on 27 February.

Sarpong commented: “There are people who have something to offer that don’t even know this industry exists and it’s really up to your industry to go out and find them.”

We are pleased to announce LIDA Lighthouse returns this year, and applications will open in May.

The Lighthouse programme is designed to find candidates based on the way they think and do things, rather than what they’ve done. The selection process is task-based and we don’t ask for a CV throughout the application process.

In 2018, LIDA Lighthouse found two new talents, Tanya Nyamadzawo and Jacob Colman.

Tanya said of her experience: “I love that each week we were stretched in our thinking and pushed to discover invaluable insights. I’ve taken that thinking and applied it to running campaigns on O2. I’m now a permanent Account Executive.”

Jacob said of the programme: “It was an incredibly welcoming experience with so many people ensuring we learnt loads and had a good time. People have continued to be invested in my development and happiness in the workplace, I’ve really enjoyed being able to become a part of the great culture that LIDA has.”
